But before you seal your pavers, it’s important to repair any cracks or damage that may be present.<\/div>\n

There are a few reasons why you should repair pavers before sealing. Of course, sealing will not be as effective if there are any cracks or gaps on the surface of the pavers. Cracks and damage can allow water to seep in and freeze, which can eventually cause the pavers to break apart. By replacing any cracked or damaged pavers before sealing, you can help to prevent this from happening. It’s a small investment that will pay off in the long run. \u2022 To extend the life of your pavers. Sealing pavers help to protect them from the elements, but it is not a cure-all. How to Repair Pavers<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
\u2022 Repair any stains. Any stains on the pavers can be repaired with a commercial stain remover, we recommend the F9 line of products that can be found here<\/a><\/strong>.
\n\u2022 Clean the pavers thoroughly. Remove any dirt, debris, or vegetation from the surface of the pavers.
\n\u2022 Sand voided areas, the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) recommend keeping the sand between 1\/4″ to 1\/8″ below the edge of the pavers. Sweep away any excess sand or debris.
\n\u2022 Once the pavers are clean and repaired, they can be sealed with a water-based sealer<\/a><\/strong>. Apply a sealer to the entire surface of the pavers. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.<\/div>\n
